Detail Rotating Laser Leica Roteo 35 WMR

Rotating Laser Leica Roteo 35 WMR : Over what distance does the laser remain visible? The spectrum of the laser light is within the region of visible light. The effect of the laser depends on the intensity of the light which is emitted. The weaker the ambient light, the more visible the laser will be to the naked eye, even across greater distances ( > 30 m) . If there is bright ambient light, it can be difficult to detect the laser even over short distances. Devices such as laser glasses, a target plate, or an electronic laser receiver ( e.g., RRC350) can make it easier to locate the laser in certain applications. Why is the laser not visible in the air, such as a laser light show? The laser light is visible and it is focused; it propagates straight out of the laser head while rotating. We see it as soon as the light hits the surface of e.g. a wall. Laser beams used in a laser show are generally doing the same; to make it visible the room is filled with some kind of mist or smoke. We can see the laser light propagating through the smoke because the smoke scatters small amounts of the light away from the straight propagation into different directions. Why is the Leica Roteo 35G more visible than the red laser Roteo 35 though it states to be within the same laser class than Roteo 35? The laser class determines the output power of the light, which is the physical intensity of the light; more specifically it tells how much energy is transferred within one second by the laser beam. Thus the laser class is an important criterion for eye-safety. However, the visibility of light depends not only from the physical intensity but also from the characteristic of the human eye: green light is better visible than red or blue light. Infrared or ultraviolet light are not visible at all for the human eye. Anyway, ultraviolet light is a part of normal sunlight and could harm the human eye, thus quality sun-glasses do not only filter visible but also ultraviolet light. Vice-versa, the green light of Roteo 35G is as eye-safe as a Roteo 35, but nevertheless the light is more visible for the user. Please read the user manual safety chapters. Which Roteo package is right for me? With the Leica Roteo 35WMR Package ( order no. 765’ 752) all needs are fulfilled for the intensive use of the laser on construction site. With its extensive scope of delivery all applications are covered well. From a laser receiver for long distances to rechargeable batteries for cost-effective working, all is included. The Leica Roteo 35G Package ( order no. 772’ 787) features all the comfort of the Roteo 35WMR package above, additionally it allows to work with the exceptionally bright green laser. The Leica Roteo 20HV Package ( order no. 772’ 789) is ideal for all interior uses. The wall bracket can be used to move the laser up and down. This package features the remote control RC350 to operate from a distance. Optionally it could be upgraded with an RRC350 receiver and/ or rechargeable batteries plus charger ( to be ordered separately) . The Leica Roteo 25H Package ( order no. 772’ 788) complements the offer providing an attractive horizontal laser that can be used for leveling and paving, e.g. checking concrete foundation height. With the R250 receiver included it can be used for all sites up to 150 m distance from the laser. It even allows adopting the laser plane on tilted surfaces. The rechargeable battery allows for intensive use, which is also cost-effective and environmentally-friendly. What is scan mode used for? In scan mode, the laser moves back and forth between two points at high speed. In this field-of-view, the beam is highly visible. What do I use a laser receiver for? Which receiver( s) can I use in conjunction with the Leica Roteo? A receiver makes it possible to locate the rotating laser beam across greater distances ( max. 150 m/ 500 ft diameter) or in bright ambient light. We recommend the Leica RRC350 laser receiver for use in conjunction with the Leica Roteo 20HV, 25H or 35, as it features an integrated remote control for this exact instrument. Other receivers for rotating lasers ( e.g., Leica R250, Leica RodEye) can also be used. The Leica Roteo 35WMR packages already features RRC350 receiver, and Leica Roteo 25H package already features R250 receiver. RRC350 could be ordered optionally with Roteo 20HV or Roteo 25H. Leica Roteo 35G works exclusively with the RRC350G receiver, because it is configured especially for green laser light reception. What can I do with the target plate? The target plate can be used to work in an unobstructed space, i.e., if no wall is available on which to project the laser beam, the target plate can help to make the beam visible. This is useful when suspending a ceiling, for example. How does automatic self-leveling work? The Leica Roteo automatically aligns inclined positions in the range ± 4.5° , controlled via electronic sensors and driven by positioning motors. The instrument is precisely aligned to 1 mm at 10 m. If the automatic self-leveling range is exceeded, the laser-head rotation shuts down automatically and the laser beam starts to flash. This means that expensive measuring errors can be avoided. Which sort of tripod is recommended? We offer three different tripods with Roteo: CET103 elevating aluminum tripod: the most flexible choice, it works with all Roteo models. With its working height at any value between 84 cm and 246 cm ( equals roughly 3 ft to 8 ft) it is ideal for setting out meter marks as well as for suspended ceilings. It is robust and features easy removable rubber feet for both indoor and outdoor work. The mm scale allows transferring heights easily. CTP104D dome-head aluminum tripod: ideal for outdoor work and thus predominantly recommended with Leica Roteo 25H. Because of the dome-head it is easy to setup the laser on uneven surfaces, as usually found on construction sites. Works with all sorts of light-weight instruments, such as Leica Roteo, Jogger or Sprinter. CTP106 aluminum tripod: the bargain choice, a robust tripod for outdoor works with flat head and wing-nut clamping screw mechanism. Works with all sorts of light-weight instruments, such as Leica Roteo, Jogger or Sprinter. What is the warranty period for my instrument? Leica Geosystems provides a one-year warranty for the Leica Roteo. However, by registering the product on our Website www.leica-geosystems.com/ registration/ within 8 weeks after purchase this warranty can be extended by a further year free of charge. If you experience any problems with your Roteo instrument or if it requires servicing ( e.g., recalibration) , please contact a certified Leica Geosystems Service Center he Leica Roteo 35 impresses everyone with its powerful features and complete set of accessories for every application, especially for interior works. The wall mount bracket allows convenient motorised control of the laser beam height by the combined remote control/ detector or by manual adjustment.
